About the Medical Clinic

Dr. Cruz values and embraces a patient-centered approach. She attempts to find the root causes of the problem and provide individualized treatments to patients. Naturopathic Doctors (NDs) are trained to identify and address the underlying cause of disease. NDs support the natural healing ability of the body by combining the science of medicine and the wisdom of nature.  NDs provide care that emphasizes the whole person - mind, body, and spirit.  Dr. Cruz combines traditional natural medicinal practices with functional medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to best determine the root cause of disease and create a plan.  She includes: Naturopathy, Acupuncture, Herbal medicine, Homeopathy and Lifestyle Counseling to help to balance and restore your health and well being.  The team at Dr. Eli Cruz ND uses research based medical nutrition protocols, bioinformatics, Functional testing, and genetics to refine and personalize diet, health and lifestyle recommendations for each individual patient.  Bringing together these traditional methods and leading edge science so we can help you generate a healthier you!

Elisabete D. Cruz ND, MAc., Dipl.Ac., MBMS

Dr. Cruz has received her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine at the University of Bridgeport. She earned her BS in Biology and her BA in Psychology from Kean University.  She completed her Master of BioMedical Science from Rutgers University - SOM (School of Osteopathic Medicine, formerly UMDNJ) and her Master in Acupuncture from the University of Bridgeport.

Dr. Cruz is a board certified NCCAOM Acupuncture Diplomat and is currently licensed as an acupuncturist in the state of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Connecticut. She holds post-doctoral certifications in Facial Rejuvenation and Aesthetics acupuncture.  She anticipates her successful completion in functional medicine as an IFMCP in the year 2022.

For over a decade, Dr. Cruz worked as an EMT in the Emergency Department in the city of Newark, NJ.  There she learned about the life-saving procedures patients would have to endure after abusing a lifetime of unhealthy lifestyle.  She knew her role in medicine would be preventative care which would bring her to naturopathic and functional medicine. Through her education and experiences she saw how a multidisciplinary medical practice with acupuncture, functional medicine, massage therapy, and chiropractic care complemented each other to treat the whole person. As she moved through the different stages of her education in clinical rotations and internships she discovered an interest in Gastrointestinal health, Neurologic health, Skin and nutrition.
